Bild von Robert Musil am Musilhaus in KlagenfurtOn Monday, May 18th, a new version of xamoom was released. Best of all, everything was automatically updated for all of our customers and demo users as well. Version 3.0 again carries the name of a great artist of Klagenfurt: Robert Musil.

Multiple users

The most important change concerns the user administration. xamoom has always been a “multi-tenant” system. This means that multiple users can log into the same platform to see and update their own content. This multi-client capability has been significantly expanded with the added role of a “restricted user”.

What does this mean in practice?

As an operator of a xamoom system, one can now assign individual users to individual locations (“Spots”) and pages. This so-called “restricted user” can only see the location(s) and pages that were assigned to him, he may, however, edit them freely.

Many possible applications:

We have long known that customers will ask for this. Specifically, it happened with Wörthersee Tourismus Gesellschaft. The request here was: the hotels and operators of tourism facilities should get their own locations (Spots), for which they can autonomously create and expand mobile retrievable offers for their guests.

This allows us to also give larger companies the possibility for their individual branches to create their own content and be able to expand on it without being able to make any changes in the overall system. xamoom is now ideal for city marketing companies that can provide their members or individual businesses with entirely new possibilities.

How does this work in practice?

After first creating the users, they can then be assigned to a spot (see red arrow). If the spot already has a page assigned to it, then that one must be assigned to the “restricted user” as well, so he can edit the content.

The restricted user cannot see the statistics of the whole system, nor the user management or the settings page.

Like with many things, here as well we have come quite far already, however, the end of the road is still far in the distance.

In the future, the statistics will be shown directly by the spots, which will help provide the “restricted users” with valuable insights about the use of their subsystems as well.
