Andy Warhol Museum
Andy Warhol’s parents are from the village of Miková near Medzilaborce, in the far northeast of Slovakia. As a tribute to this great contemporary artist, Medzilaborce has founded a unique museum. Expositions in the Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art showcase not only the works of the namesake but also those of contemporary Slovak and foreign artists like Poppy, Keith Haring or Roy Lichtenstein.
The digital perspective in the museum is provided by xamoom. The stories behind the exhibits are told on the smartphone by QR codes or NFC tags. This project shows how simple a mobile information system for museums is set up and that implementation costs are manageable.
